At Quill Creek Bison we firmly believe in land stewardship. We are the caretakers of our land and water now and for the future. The continued management of our natural resources will allow us to move forward to supply the wild and healthy grass raised Bison meat and related Bison products to the wholesalers and retailers and to the dinner table of our customers in North America and Europe. We currently have over 4000 Bison in our herds and each one is tracked from start to finish with our in house systems and staff. This allows us to produce some of the finest quality Bison individuals and Bison herds that are available.
Our Bison are wild animals that graze on the open prairies of our ranches in Saskatchewan and Manitoba Canada. We raise over 4,000 head of bison as nature intended on 9,000 acres of regenerative native grasslands to protect the environment and avoid pesticides and when possible, fertilizers.
Our Bison are organically grown and meet The Canadian Organic Standard for beef. Our bison are raised without hormones and antibiotics and our bison products contain no additives.
Buffalo tends to have a lighter, more delicate flavor than beef, some say it is a bit sweeter. Bison is high in iron which gives it a rich mineral taste, which is extremely hard to distinguish. That high iron content gives the raw meat a beautiful bright red color and, when cooked, it sears and browns just like beef and doesn’t look any different on the plate.

Today most farmers are struggling to increase their herds and keep up with demand. Bison grow slower than other livestock, and a heifer can't give birth to her first calf until she's 3. The tight supply started during the last decade or so when the farmers presented the health benefits of Bison such as low fat, low cholesterol, being the healthy alternative to red meat.
